Chocolate and wine: The Friends of the Monterey Public Library group is having its 15th Annual Chocolate and Wine fundraiser from 7-9 p.m. Fridayat the Monterey Public Library 625 Pacific St. Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door. The event features chocolate, wine, beer and savories. All proceeds benefit the Monterey Public Library. For tickets and information, visit mplfriends.com.

Quilt show will keep you in stitches: Pajaro Valley Quilt Association 42nd annual Quilt Show & Auction is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, 2601 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville. The show features more than 300 quilts, a fashion show at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and featured speaker Meri Vahl at 2 p.m. Saturday. A live quilt auction will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 in advance at selected quilt shops. For details, visit pvqa.org.

Caregiver support group: The Monterey Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at Alzheimer’s Association, 21 Lower Ragsdale Drive Suite B, Monterey. For information about this and other support groups in the area, call 800-272-3900.

Welcome to Fireplace Lounge: The Hyatt’s newly designed Fireplace Lounge welcomes jazz vocalist Janice Marotta Perl and the David Morwood jazz band on Friday. Saturday features Bob Basa on guitar, Steve Uccello on bass, David Morwood on drums. The music starts to swing at 7 p.m. both nights. No cover and parking is free. The Hyatt’s address is 1 Old Golf Course Road, Monterey.

Serenade for spring: Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra presents Serenade for an Early Spring – Monterey County is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 501 El Dorado St., Monterey. Performance features Joseph Suk – Serenade for Strings, Michael Daugherty – Fallingwater and Ralph Vaughn Williams – Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.

Téada on tour: The Irish band Téada embarks on a national U.S. tour that includes a 3 p.m. show Sunday at St. Mary’s By The Sea Episcopal Church,146 12th St., in Pacific Grove. Téada, which means ‘strings’ in Irish, has been described as “at the cutting edge of the next generation of Irish musicians. Tickets are $25 advance ($28 at the door) and children $10 ($12 door).

Smooth sounds: “The Drifters: A Half Century of Classic American Music” plays at 8 p.m. Sunday at the World Theater, 5260 Sixth Ave., Seaside. The hall of famers will sing favorites such as “Under the Boardwalk,” “Stand by Me,” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.” Tickets range from $14 to $49. For information, visit worldtheater.tix.com.

All that jazz: Suite Jazz @ Embassy welcomes Dave Holodiloff on strings, Bob Phillips on keyboards and Zack Westfall on base from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Embassy Suites, 1441 Canyon Del Rey Blvd., Seaside. Your hosts are Jim Vanderzwaan and Lee Durley. Performers are welcome.
